Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 25, 2026

VidMax ("we", "our", "us") provides an Android video player application. This Privacy Policy explains how data is processed when you use VidMax.

Developer entity: CIG Inc. (contact: lichitech.vn@gmail.com).

Account notice: VidMax does not require user account registration or login to use core features.

1. Data we process

  • Media metadata and files (on-device): To show your video library, folders, duration, and playback state.
  • App preferences (on-device): Theme, language, subtitle settings, playback settings, and private folder settings.
  • Private Folder security data (on-device): PIN hash and salt (not plaintext PIN), biometric-enabled flag.
  • Advertising data (third-party SDK): When ads are shown, Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) may process advertising identifiers, IP address, device and app diagnostics, and ad interaction signals according to Google's own policies.

2. Permissions used

  • Storage / media access: To read and organize local videos.
  • Internet and network state: To load ads and optional network features (for example subtitles or cast-related flows).
  • Biometric: To unlock Private Folder if you enable biometric lock.

3. How we use data

  • Provide core playback and library features.
  • Protect private content in Private Folder.
  • Maintain app performance, stability, and settings persistence.
  • Serve ads for app monetization (if enabled in your app build).

4. Data sharing and third parties

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with service providers strictly to operate app features:

  • Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Ad serving and fraud prevention.
  • Google Cast services: Casting-related functionality when used.

Google services may process data independently under Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

You can manage ad personalization preferences and reset/delete your Advertising ID in Android Settings (Google > Ads, wording may vary by device).

5. Data retention and deletion

  • Most app data is stored in app-local device storage and remains until you delete app data, uninstall the app, or remove content manually.
  • Private Folder PIN data can be removed by resetting Private Folder security settings in the app.
  • You can remove local app data through Android Settings > Apps > VidMax > Storage & cache > Clear storage (wording may vary by device).
  • Third-party services (for example AdMob) retain data under their own retention policies.

6. Security

  • Private Folder PIN is stored as a cryptographic hash with salt.
  • Biometric verification is handled by Android Biometric APIs.
  • No security method is perfect, but we apply reasonable safeguards for local app data.

7. Children's privacy

VidMax is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable digital age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal data through services connected to VidMax, contact us to request review and deletion support.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page.
